Crochet worked in rows has no specific right side, because both sides look alike.
In some designs (example my beige pocketbook) the right side is determined by what the designer wants to accomplish with the design.
If a pattern changes dramatically and is not repeated on the return row, the design will have a right and wrong side, which is easily determined.
When working in rounds you work only from one side of the piece, so that “outside” most likely will always be considered the right side.
In general: Since one can crochet ANYTHING, one also can make both sides the “right side”. The beauty is in the eyes of the beholder and any crochet project will have a feel and a character of its own.
