This is the coolest thing and she is absolutely beautiful and as hard to beat as it is: even more frugal than I am. Her absolutely stunning dress cost $30.
When our youngest daughter Joy got married to my Mennonite/ Amish decent son in law, there were no decent wedding dresses to be had anywhere. Finally she chose a satin one with beads and sequences, high enough to show no cleavage, but it had bare shoulders. I sewed the sleeves and embroidered the beads and frills like on the original dress . It will just not do to go shoulder free and marry an Amish dude, though his parents left that religion behind and follow Jesus when he was 6 years old. All grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins are still Amish and Mennonites. We were really happy they were willing to come to an “English” wedding. I am actually more German than they are, though we ALL are American. But that is what the Amish call all of us: “English”. We had an awesome wedding and a beautiful “decent” virgin bride with very little money spent.
